Sponsorship Opportunities

There are plenty of opportunities for companies and individuals interested in other sponsorships at LDRS 26 beyond being an onsite vendor. Note that your company need not be rocketry-related to be a sponsor! (We hope we don't need to point out the tax advantages of doing so...) Sponsor Some Shade!

We're looking for at least a dozen companies, organizations, clubs, or individuals to sponsor shade canopies for spectators at LDRS 26.

Sponsored shade canopies will be connected side-by-side to form a long shaded area, right in front, allowing spectators a chance to escape from the sun while enjoying LDRS. Each canopy will have a single sponsor,
who will be able to attach their own sign to the frame of the canopy, advertising whatever message they choose.

Sponsoring a canopy costs $150, and is open to anyone. Your sponsored canopy (a 10'x10'x7' high "Shelter", by Defy Gravity: http://defyg.com/shelter.html) will be delivered for you to LDRS 26, and it will be set up no later than the afternoon of Wednesday, July 11th, 2007. It will remain up until the range is closed on the afternoon of July 17th, 2007.

Your sign should be no larger than two feet high by four feet wide, to avoid interfering with the spectators' view of the launch. You may hang your own sign as soon as your canopy is set up.

At the conclusion of LDRS, you get to keep the canopy you sponsored. Or, if you'd rather not have to transport it home, you are welcome to donate it to the "clean-up raffle", as a prize to be given to one of the
volunteers who stay to help tear down the launch equipment and pack everything away at the end of LDRS.

Some signage advice for sponsors:

- We suggest that you contact several local sign shops to find the best price for having your sign made; prices sometimes vary widely.
- Corrugated plastic signs are inexpensive, lightweight, and durable, and might make an excellent material choice.
- Nylon "zip ties" can be used to attach lightweight signs securely to the frame of the canopy.
- A two-sided sign will ensure that your message is seen by spectators under, as well as outside of, your canopy.
